He is Edward "Ed" Mezvinsky, born January 17, 1937. Then you'll probably say, "Who is Ed Mezvinsky?" Well, he is a former Democrat congressman who represented Iowa's 1st congressional district in the United States House of Representatives for two terms, from 1973 to 1977. He sat on the House Judiciary Committee that decided the fate of Richard Nixon. He was outspoken saying that Nixon was a crook and a disgrace to politics and the nation and should be impeached. He and the Clintons were…Continue

Apparently, the US Government has misinterpreted the news that tax revenues are the highest they have ever been to mean there is a huge surplus of money in need of spending. You can’t look at any news source without seeing someone asking for money. Comprehensive bills are in various stages throughout Congress. Uncle Sam must be positively flush with money. Then you look at the National Debt Clock and see the $17.6 trillion debt rocketing upward. To put that into perspective, that works…Continue

Perhaps it is because as a child, I witnessed Zaggy torturing chubby Butterball every morning at the school bus stop. Consequently, I have an extremely low tolerance for Leftists bullying Americans into submission and getting away with it.…Continue

This weekend, the state convention will decide if State Senator Julianne Ortman will climb the next step up the ladder to the August 14 primary to become the Republican U.S. Senate nominee to ultimately defeat toxic flaming-liberal Democrat Al Franken in the general.…

Traveling down I-95 headed home to Florida from visiting Mary and my parents in Maryland and West Virginia, I found myself yelling in frustration at my radio. Rush Limbaugh asked who gives the Left power to silence opposition, control speech, get people fired or ordered into sensitivity training? Rush rattled off…Continue
The Export-Import Bank is up for congressional reauthorization soon, and it is time for our senators and congressmen to stand up to cronyism. The Bank, referred to by President Obama in 2008 as “little more than a fund for corporate welfare”, guarantees taxpayer-backed loans to exporters. The vast majority of these loans are given to large corporations with powerful lobbyists in DC—corporations that have no problem arranging private funding.
In 2012, Boeing received 80% of the Bank’s…Continue

Those who compare the bare-chested conqueror of the Crimea with the metro-sexual ruler of the United States and find our emperor weak to the point of deserving ridicule, miss the essential strength of president Obama.
It’s no ordinary weakling who can turn a once-respected into an international joke; reduce Congress to a gaggle of sniveling sycophants; turn the world’s…Continue

As a 9 or 10 year old, my knowledge of the situation was limited. Therefore, I can not pass judgment on the adults. I do not know what was done or not done to rescue my cousin Glen, a little boy who was severely abused by his mom, my late aunt Bummie (a nickname). My dad threatened to report Aunt Bummie to the…Continue

I live in Shelby County, Alabama, one of the fastest growing counties in the country. We are also considered to be one of the reddest with 6 out of 7 of our House representatives and both senators being Republican, as well as our governor. Republicans also hold the majority of the state legislature since 2010 (first time in 100 years).
That said, allow me to point you directly to the voting record of our congressman, Spencer Bachus. In fact, I would invite interested parties to…

The administration has decided that, with the end of the military’s mission in Afghanistan, we no longer need a capable armed force. A year and a half ago, it was ” Bin Ladin is dead and Al Qaeda is on the run”, so obviously, there are no terrorist threats in the world today. In Afghanistan, Hamid Karzai has solved all the problems of the region to the point that they no longer require any military assistance. The Olympics are over and all the world is at peace!

The Federal Communication Commission wants to launch a study called the “Multi-Market Study of Critical Information Needs”. The FCC wants to determine what news stories get chosen for airing and how they are chosen. To find the answers to these questions, they want to put monitors in local TV and radio newsrooms. Does this sound harmless to you? Maybe, until you realize that places government officials in the radio and television stations many of you watch. Maybe it sounds harmless, until…Continue

I have a bumper sticker on my truck that says “American Pride”. Actually, it’s not on my truck’s bumper, but on the toolbox. This is the toolbox in which I carry my tools from one job site to another. For the most part, I enjoy what I do, but, there are some days that are tougher than others. Regardless of whether or not it was a good job or a tough job, ultimately, I have pride in the job I’ve done.
This feeling may soon become a thing of the past. Last week, the Congressional…Continue

I’ve offered commentary before about the heritage of hunting and the need for its preservation, but those who value this practice should understand the full scope of this task at hand.
For most considerations toward historical preservation, it’s only necessary to build public awareness of such a need and to secure plans for restoration.
In the case of hunting preservation, these things are needed, but beyond that, a war of ideas and influence is being waged between preservation…Continue
