(IBD) As Middle East Burns and Benghazi questions remain, Hillary Says Save The Elephants

Diplomacy: Egypt descends into chaos, Syria's chemical weapons are on  the move, and Benghazigate's questions remain unanswered, but our outgoing  secretary of state wants saving the African elephant to be her legacy?

'Some of you might be wondering why a secretary of state is keynoting an  event about wildlife trafficking and conservation," Secretary of State Hillary  Clinton said on Thursday in Washington, D.C., before a group of animal activists  and several international ambassadors.

Yes, that thought occurred to us, considering that she has put aside the fact  that four Americans are dead, apparently forgotten casualties of the Sept. 11,  2012, terrorist attack on our consulate in Benghazi, Libya.

No one has been brought to justice and no public official has been held  accountable, including herself, or answered questions such as why they were put  in harms way without adequate security and abandoned without a rescue  attempt.

Clinton told the crowd in Washington on Thursday that poachers are using  helicopters, night vision goggles and automatic weapons to hunt down  wildlife.

Well, so has the Syrian government of Bashar al-Assad, who Hillary once  referred to as a "reformer," except his targets are human, as we draw imaginary  lines in shifting sand.

U.S. intelligence have detected Syrian movement of chemical weapons  components in recent days, a senior U.S. defense official said Monday, and the  mixing of so-called "precursor" chemicals to weaponize the Syrian inventory may  be under way.

Possibly Assad may be preparing, despite his assurances, to use them against  his own people, tens of thousands of which he has already slaughtered, or to  protect a final redoubt in an Alawite dominated area.

Clinton said she wants world leaders to increase their focus on combating the  problem and said that she and President Obama will speak to Asian leaders about  it next week at the East Asia Summit.
